Communication/Organizational:
- Served as Secretary General for the Vienna International Model United Nations (VIMUN 2004)
- Served as Chair in the UNIDO Committee with the topic of "Youth Employment in Industry through Renewable Energy Technologies"
- Served as Chair in Reserve in the UNIDO Committee with the topic "Renewable Energy Sources in the 21st century" during the VIMUN 2002
-Represented Vietnam in the UNIDO with the topic of “Cleaner and Sustainable Development” during the VIMUN (Vienna International Model United Nations) 2001.
- Planned, organized and facilitated a school event for more than 800 people. Solicited, arranged donations; through this raised 1000$ in one day event.
- Completed and published the first annual report of school events, activities and research for a technical high school.
- Travelled to South Africa to study the Truth and Reconciliation Commission; interviewed journalists, politicians and a Nobel Peace Laureate (Desmond Tutu), report submitted for publication.
Research:
- Conducted research project, which identified bacteria that are able to digest oil and oil products; isolated the responsible DNA sequence and transformed normal bacteria to carry this sequence.
- Developed a titrimetric method to detect boric acid in wood preserver as a part of a research project at an Austrian firm.
- Observed the effectiveness of different methods to extract nicotine from tobacco and researched the toxicity of nicotine on the human body.
