 About Me |
As a response to Canadian hunger, I founded Spread the Love in 2002.
Spread the Love combats hunger by empowering communities to make sandwiches for the hungry. By 'community' we mean schools, businesses, and non-profits; by 'the hungry' we mean school children, the homeless and the working poor.
Our mission is to mobilize communities to combat hunger through the simple power of the sandwich.
During the past 7 years, we have provided over 48 000 meals across Alberta, with a strong focus in the southern region of the province. We are honored to receive a 2008 YMCA Calgary Peace Medal for our community initiatives.
