About me
Tinh has been involved in youth work and youth development since he was the first year student of Vietnam National University as he believed that young generation today would be leaders, decision-makers in the near future. Therefore, he would like to get his whole life dedicated to strengthen youth organizations/groups in Vietnam.
During his time at university, Tinh has joined Vietnam University Youth Union, Student Association as key members and taken over many important positions. Further, he and his friends established Hanoi Club of Disabled Students – HCDS which had more 300 members so far.
After his graduate, he was selected to be one of 5 outstanding youth of Vietnam to represent at APEC IT Camp for Youth in Asia & the Pacific Region in Seoul, South Korea in 2002 and got an award of excellence for homepage contest.
His aspiration towards youth development was only flourished when he was invited by World Bank to participate into the Youth, Development & Peace in Sarajevo, Bosnia & Herzegovina and then the 1st PAN Asian & Pacific Youth Leadership Summit in Hiroshima, Japan and the International Youth Dialogue in Lubeck, Germany in 2004. This was a stepping stone for him to be recruited as National Programme Officer for United Nations Programme for Youth in Vietnam and coordinator of the UN Youth Task Force. Tinh was also involved in the drafting process of the Survey Assessment of Vietnamese Youth – SAVY, the most comprehensive and the first ever-conducted survey on youth and adolescents in the region as well as the Vietnam Youth Law (adopted in Nov. 2005) after 23 years of delay.
In addition, Tinh was the founder of the Vietnam Action Network for Youth – VANY in Vietnam which is an open, friendly network of many active youths/youth organizations/volunteer clubs in Vietnam. VANY is currently working online to discuss all youth-related issues.
His international, national experiences towards youth work and development are very useful that should be shared with other youth organizations in Vietnam.
