About me
Richard is the Dean of studies and a Physics and Chemistry teacher at Murang'a high school, one of the National schools category in Kenya- who rededicates his commitments and efforts to champion the excellence of others by making unreasonable requests that stretch them to live full out.
Tafakari is a swahili word, which means to ponder,to reflect, to think deeper and critically, to introspect about issues that are close to us on our everyday interaction with reality.
He is a smile advocate who believes that a smile is always the best recommendation. Hmmmh! try smiling to people you meet today and you will be amazed by their reaction towards that.
Tafakari’s 8 core values include;
> Creativity
> Possibility thinking
> Contribution
> Common sense
> teamwork
> Freedom
> Daring adventure
> Trust in God.
His working principles include;
> To live his life as a daring adventure with a commitment to be the best, to venture into unchartered waters, declaring himself a novice so as to explore the unknown with open curiosity for new experiences and potential successes.
> To choose to invent his future as a daily creation, reflecting his ability to be both the architect and builder of who he is and who he chooses to become.
> To pro actively live out of a commitment to whole thinking.
> To connect with others, seeking mutuality whenever possible because what supports one of us, supports us all. We are connected at some level.
> To live with a conscious awareness of his ability to contribute to himself and to others. The more one gives to others, the more one gets back in return.
> To get feedback from others and have life train him by providing continual input allowing himself to benefit the most from what he learns.
> To break out of the shell of fear, of feeling inadequate, shrinking and acting small, rather to manifest the wonderment of the gift that is within himself and unconsciously giving others the permission to do the same.
And lastly,
> To believe that all these are possible through God’s Grace and Mercies which endures forever .To hold unswervingly to the hope because He Who promises is faithful.
Tafakari is proud to be a Kenyan-home of milk and honey and to the big five of the wild and is inspired by Nobel laureate, Wangari Maathai and my mother.
