ABOUT US
The need for Quality resources from with the community for developing the excluded people was felt in the rural areas of Karur / Erode Districts. Hence PESAT sprang up with the single motive of developing the excluded people by providing them equal opportunities to develop.
GENISIS
PESAT is an organization executed by a group of self employed in the excluded community[Dalit Members] with the past 10 years experience in the field works among dalits. In February 2001, the visionary founder and his friends marked the beginning journey of empowering the excluded peoples. With the help of rural volunteers, CASA and SURYA to promote a harmonious indegenious communities between human & nature.
VISION
PESAT envisions the emergence of new social order that ensures the integration of excluded peoples into the mainstream Socio-economic development.
MISSION
To work towards organizing the excluded and disadvantaged people to build their capacity to achieve social equality and self reliance by gaining control over their lives and resources.
FUTURE PLAN
PESAT desires to strive the elimination of oppression, exploitation, dehumanization of dalits especially women, children and environment through social & economic empowerment.
The excluded (dalit) community youths can create an upsurge in their development only through education. For this, PESAT envisages an educational institution with highest quality academic output with standard technical infrastructure. This alone can liberate the people oppression of the society and enable them to sustain their development further more vocational, self employment training centers are to be set in the rural areas for boosting the employment opportunities.
To educate the dalit people to come out of their fears among society. In this service PESAT will move towards changing of their lifestyles by constructing Community halls for celebrations like another peoples. To promote harmonious relationship between all human beings and nature.
OUR CURRENT ACTIVITIES
Project Revival :
Supplementary Education Programme for drop out children and Youth in three centers project supported by Old students.
Project Selfemp :
Providing Training on Two wheeler mechanism through THADCO, Karur District for 20 beneficiaries and Providing Computer Desk top and Screen Printing Training for 20 beneficiaries per year supported by one our team member.
Project Health :
Health awareness Education Programme for rural school going adolesent girls (RH&R) Programme supported by Tamilnadu Voluntary Health Association (TNVHA), Chennai.
Project Women :
Paper carry bags and jute bags manufacturing training for women.
Project Charity :
Jointly organizing Medical camps like eye, blood and arrange talk show among excluded people area about Health awareness and Environment Protection.
Project Adopt :
Providing Education for three orphan children.
OUR CONSTITUENCY :
Our organization covers two blocks spread over the two districts each block comprising 15 villages each. Around 10 villages are on the Amaravathi river bank with the residence depending on agriculture due to drought for the past two years, the villagers are without any employment and the other villagers are also landless agricultural coolies who are without any employments. Alternative employment arrangements to be made in these areas.
