About me
Iam a Ugandan visual Artist(Printmaker) and also a trained teacher.I was born in kinaawa village in Wakiso district. My father passed away in 1988 and all the burden of taking care of the family was left with my mother who is a simple farmer though she is also a trained primary school teacher who taught for only afew years.Due to her love for education,she managed to put me in a remote primary school from where i had my elementary education.After primary,i joined Lubiri secondary school and in my senior Six final Examinations,i managed to be among the best students in the school.Oh God,my mother was so happy with my results.She couldnot believe that i was to join Makerere University on Government scholarship.It was indeed a great moment to her and me because she did not have even the slightest capacity of paying university fees.In 2002,i got a bachelors degree in industrial and fine art from Makerere University's school of industrial and fine art.In 2003,i got a postgraduate Diploma in Education at Makerere University's school of Education.Since then,i have been a commited visual Artist and Art Teacher.I have participated in a number of Art Exhibitions,inspired a number of young printmaker and iam also a member of Art organisations like Life in Africa,Uganda printmaker's Association and Uganda Artists association..Evidence of my art practice can be searched on the following links: www.africancolours.com ,www.lessedra.com ,www.artistsrepublik.com ,www.realafricanart.com and www.africancontemporary.com.
