THE MAGIC OF FAIRY TALES

With each stroke of the brush, my childhood dreams and imaginations take form before my very eyes. I love to bring fairy tales and folk lore to life on canvas!

Fairy tales began long ago as life lessons told by the elder women of a village as they worked spinning yarn late into the evenings... Hence the expression spinning the yarn. As they sat around the fire, the elderly weavers would tell their tales, as they were told to them, passing along life lessons and valuable wisdom through these nighttime stories... Wisdom tales.

As the long evenings wore on, the stories became embellished with fairies and magical creatures so that the young women and children would learn and remember them well... Fairy tales.

SIMPLE ELEGANCE FOR KIDS

The imagery comes from within me, inspired only by those stories and fables passed on by our ancestors... now my daughter's bed time fairy tales.

The designs and details are kept simple and sweet... just as they would be in the minds and imaginations of the children that are meant to enjoy them. All the while, adding a touch of elegance and maturity that can be enjoyed for many years to come. The imagery and the meanings they invoke change with our age and can be enjoyed differently at various stages of our lives. An escape to a simpler time to be treasured by children, mothers and grandmothers alike!

Revisiting those wonderful memories of childhood with the eyes and maturity of an adult, two worlds are blended together to be enjoyed by all!

UNIQUELY SAMANTHA

As an artist, I try to keep my work fresh and creative. I am always looking to try something new and different... I love to add a splash of the unexpected. Whether it's adding fairy wings to a kitty cat, using beads and jewels to add something special to a piece or even just a bold splash of color amongst the pretty pastels.

You will always find that each piece is unique and original. While the themes found in fairy tales inspire many other children's artists, each new creation of mine is unique... A guaranteed original. When you look at my portfolio, you will find a beautiful medley marked by a distinct style and creativity.

Never an imitation of someone else's work... nor a repeat of one of my own designs! That's just too boring for me! Remember... "Success is dangerous.
