About me
Eric Ojok is a Ugandan aged 25 currently working as Youth Porgramme Officer with Hope Alive Uganda, a charitable non profit organization that working in partnership with communities through poverty relief, sustainable development, education and HIV/AIDS prevention initiatives to improve the care, protection and support of communities in Uganda. Eric coordinates activities that engage the young people in advocacy training, resource mobilization and income generation as self employment.
In May 2012, Eric took part in the Programme Activity Review Process for the AIDS2012 in Washington DC where he reviewed applications for the Youth Program and the Global Village. He also co-chaired the ICASA2011 Communications and Media Committee where he coordinated activities of members leading to success of the Youth Pavilion at ICASA2011.
Eric has also worked with Youth RISE as an International Working Group member for Sub-Saharan Africa. His duties were but not limited to; Implementation of Youth RISE’s strategic focus, activities and projects, Assist in the creation of partnerships between Youth RISE and local organizations, engaging young people in the region in research training or advocacy projects and supporting the participation of young people who do not have access to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and developing fact sheets, briefing papers and/or projects with the support of Youth RISE coordinators and senior IWG’s.
In 2010 during his term as the National Focal Point for GYCA in Uganda, he was appointed as a member of the Vienna Youth Force that developed the youth Advocacy message for the AIDS2010 conference where he particularly developed a questionnaire that was used to collect information from young people on the 3HRs of Human Rights, Harm Reduction and Health Resources. He is also a member of the GYCA partnership sub committee.
