About me
I was borne and grew up in Kathmandu, Nepal. Went to Gyankunj for primary education, St. Mary's for lower secondary and then Lester B. Pearson UWC of the Pacific (Canada) for the final 2 years of high school. Currently, I am an undergraduate student at Cornell University.
My beliefs are highly shaped by my experience at the UWC and PSYL. I spent about 20 months, after my first semester of university, volunteering and working in Nepal, which enabled me to put some of my learnings into practice and to get a realistic picture of dynamics of development, philanthropy and activism in my country. Majority of my activities ended up being youth leadership, volunteerism and sustainability focused through campaigns and organizations like National Youth Service, Youth Initiative, Nepal ko Yuwa, Change Fusion and Paschim Paaila. During this period I spent time in over 15 districts, which makes the most rewarding experience of my time off-studies.
While I am back in the US pursuing my undergraduate degree Natural Resources, I am focusing on environmental protection, sustainable food and sustainable tourism. My efforts tend to be very Nepal focused. However, I believe in 'active and responsible global citizenship' and will always support any positive endeavor towards a fair, secure and livable world.
