About me
Hi!
I’m in college and I am studying in social sciences. I’m really open to what is happening in the world, and on almost every subject; like politics, economy, etc. In my courses, we talk about different cases that happen or have already happened; like Guantanamo, the prison in Cuba, or different wars or genocides. Those subjects touch me because I don’t understand why pain is so wide-spread. I live in a “rich” country, so I’m not used with poverty, but it’s touching me a lot. When I see images, like in Haiti right now, it makes me very sad, and I just want to help, but the best we can do, is to send money.
Another case that is affecting me is the famine in the world. Every time I throw something still good, I’m always thinking about all people that can’t eat every day. I think it’s our job to help them to have a better quality of life. I believe that it is inequitable that some countries are really rich and that the others are not.
Another important subject for me is the environment. Our earth is screaming for help, and most people never mind. We have to do something if we want that humans may continue to survive. Everyone is concerned about what we will do, but it’s seems like people are not listening to the signs that our planet makes. We have to quit our zone of comfort and act. We can do a lot of little efforts, like to recycle or buy hybrid cars, to help, but it’s our governments who have to do the big actions, and support that case. On the other hand, it’s our job to vote for the right people who will help the earth to survive. One last thing I want to say is that it’s very important to vote or to do the best you can to make right choices. It’s not true that they are all the same. We all have the power in our hands to make changes.
