About me
Mohamed Kanneh was born in Kenema, Eastern Province of Sierra Leone where he started his primary schooling at the National Islamic Primary School in 1991.
After six years of his primary schooling, he continued his education in
the Government Secondary School Kenema.
Unfortunately, during his early Junior Secondary Schooling, the civil war in the country escalated and he had to move with his family as refugee in Liberia in 1997.
In Liberia, being cognizant of the usefulness education, he urged his parents to send him to one of the refugee schools and he was admitted at the Sinje Community School in Liberia in 1997 where he attained his eighth grade.
After a year of nostalgic feelings, Mohamed Kanneh moved back to his
beloved country with his family in 1998 and continued his education in his first secondary school ever in life (Government Secondary School) in 1998 where he sat to the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In his senior secondary schooling, Mohamed Kanneh was admitted at the Albert Academy Freetown, Sierra Leone in 1999/2000 academic year where he started his student and youth activism.
Recognizing his tireless efforts towards development, he was elected as the UNESCO Club Secretary General, and Organizing Secretary of the Literary and Debating Society (L&DS) Albert Academy.
Mohamed Kanneh studied Peace and Conflict Studies at the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology. He is one of the 2007 College (Milton Margai college of Education and Technology) Representatives in National Moot Court Competition on International Humanitarian Law for Colleges and Universities, and a former Government Lawyer of the Milton Margai College of Education and Technology Student Union Goderich Campus.
Mohamed Kanneh became the founding member of the National Youth Coalition Student Assembly (NYCSA) in June 2003 and in 2005 National Coordinator due to his relentless efforts towards development.
He also became member of other organizations and attained reputable positions such as Deputy Director of Information; National Youth Coalition(NYC), Member; Youth Alliance for Social Action (YASA), and Assistant Programme Officer, Youth Action International Sierra Leone Chapter.
Presently, he is working with the West African Youth Network as a Project Assistant and presented a paper in the African Commission Conference on Educational Challenges in Post Conflict Countries and Countries in Fragile
Situation held in Ougadoudou, Burkina faso.
