About me
I am a pro-active young man who believes in the ultimate success of everything I do. My personal moto is that success is a state of mind and therefore to think is to succeed. I am a published poet, novelist, columnist and hip hop & jazz musician/composer.
In 2006, I was the country coordinator/national focal point for the Global Youth Coalition on HIV/AIDS in Zimbabwe. I am also an emerging researcher, having assisted in an IRIN/Plusnews information needs assessment from March 17 to 3 April to establish how HIV/AIDS information is used by key stakeholders on the ground in Southern Africa. IRIN stands for Integrated Regional Information Networks and it forms part of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. In September 2007 I was in my capacity as Key Correspondent for Health Development Networks part of a team assigned by Irish Aid to carry out an evaluation of the evolution of Home Based Care programmes in Zimbabwe. We covered areas in three provinces.
I was also instrumental in the setting up of the SAfAIDS Media Resource Desk, which is a one stop shop for journalists to access accurate, relevant, timely and culture sensitive information on HIV/AIDS. It is a concerted effort with UNAIDS, Southern Africa Editor's Forum, Media Action Plan and SAfAIDS.
I have since ceased my post as the programme advisor of the HIV/AIDS Communicator (HAC) which seeks to empower journalists and artists on how to use HIV/AIDS information appropriately to suit the information needs of their target audiences. I was also a volunteer for the Women's Coalition of Zimbabwe.
