About me
I’m currently a secondary Spanish teacher at Hazen High School in the Renton School District. I also am the ‘technology integration specialist’ for our building which means that I am an instructional coach on combining technology into the classroom as a means for professional development and teaching. I am currently the break-dance club advisor/member for our school as well.
Currently, I am inspired by my students, coworkers, and those people working in education that go above and beyond to make school a better place. I am inspired by people who are willing to put themselves on the line to contribute in a positive manner in order to make a better learning community for everybody. I find that I am content to work extremely hard so long as the individuals that I am surround by have the opportunity to better themselves and, hopefully, in turn better the people in their own lives.
Teaching a student to do the right thing, even when it is more difficult, is a priority in my professional development. Choosing the innovation rather than complacency and compassion rather than indifference will never be the ‘wrong’ choice. When a student chooses to do the right thing, not because people are watching but because of strong moral character, it inspires me to better myself and my community.
