About me
I was born on May 11. I had most of my primary education in Lagos State and finally graduated with an HND (Higher National Diploma) in Mass Communications in 1998.
Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for ASONYAH on Care and Support and provision of Micro-Credit for Female Sex Workers in Akwa Ibom and Cross River States from the HAF 3 grant 2009.
As an undergraduate, i served as an industrial attaché with the Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC). As a youth corper, i served as a producer/presenter of a tourism program with Plataeu Radio Television, Jos. I also served as a news reporter with the same station. During my service year, I enrolled for computer studies, which makes me hold a certificate in Computer studies.
After my service year in 2000, i served as a Social Mobilizer with National Action Committee on AIDS. This was a program organised to sensitize people on the fact that HIV/AIDS is real. This program has been a stepping stone to my several other programs on HIV/AIDS.
I have served as Field Officer in different organisations. As a Field Officer, i have carried out field surveys on issues pertaining to HIV/AIDS, other health issues as well as agricultural issues. The program implied gathering data and writing reports for further actions.
I have served as Program Officer in several organisations that deal with HIV/AIDS issues. Few of such organisation include Internews Network, Nigeria and International Conference on AIDS and STIs in Africa, ICASA 2005.
I also served as one of the Technical Managers in the Nigeria HIV/AIDS Summit 2007 organised by the National Agency for the Control of AIDS, NACA.
I have been involved in organisations' News Letter production and I write articles for both local and international agencies, on any issue.
I double as the Communications Manager of the Association of Nigerian Youth against HIV/AIDS, (ASONYAH).
I have attended several capacity building workshops ranging from HIV/AIDS, Leadership Legislation, to NGO management training workshops. I also facilitate in some of the workshops and conferences as rapportuer, resource person and moderator.
As a versatile individual who studied a Versatile course, (Mass Communications), I have worked with a consortium,Triedent Consulting Limited, as the Corporate Assistant to the Executives. Thereafter, I worked with New Wave Productions, producers of Zoomtime, Charly Boy show and Taakra as the Administrative Manager.
I belong to four youth oriented organisations namely NiPRO eforum, World Bank Youth Forum called Youth Development and Peace (YDP Network), Nigeria, Voice of Youth eforum, as well as Sustainable Nigerian Youth Coalition (SNYC). I am also a member of the Nigeria AIDS eforum, JAAIDS. I also coordinate an NGO called Teenage Dimensions.
I believe the youth, globally, can make the difference in today's world, doing it right.
July, 2008:
I organised an anti-corruption rally and workshop and "Our Heroes Award" for ICPC/UNDP in collabaoration with Crusade for Greater Nigeria (CFGN), a non-profit NGO in Abuja.
The workshop planning on Micro-finance for a community in Bayelsa State is ongoing. It's hectic, but hopes to be successful.
