About me
Honza received his International Baccalaureate Diploma from the Red Cross Nordic United World College in Norway, an international school whose mission is to use education as a force to unite people. With a special emphasis on environmental and humanitarian concerns, the Nordic College provided him with a unique opportunity to become exposed to international perspectives on a broad range of issues relating to environment and sustainable development. In 1999, Honza received the James DeWitt Wallace Scholarship to study Political Science and French at Macalester College in Saint Paul, Minnesota and at l’Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris, France. Concurrent with his studies, Honza worked in administrative and executive positions for a number of organizations including the International Romani Union in Prague (2000, 2001), the Hubert H. Humphrey Institute of Public Affairs in Minneapolis (2000), United World Colleges in Amsterdam (2002), and la Ligue des Droits de l’Homme in Paris (2002). Honza serves as a member of the International Youth Parliament International Advisory Board, and works with the Global Youth Action Network as a development consultant. Honza is currently completing his Masters Degree in International Peace Studies offered by the UN University for Peace in Costa Rica, and seeks to pursue a career in the fields of international education either with the United Nations, the government of the Czech Republic or in the civil society sector.
