About me
Over the past several years, I have dedicated much of my energy toward activities that advocate for strengthened action and policies to minimize human impact on climate change. In 2007, I helped raise over $4.3 million in student levies for supporting energy efficiency and conservation upgrades at my university, and secured a contract for purchasing wind energy for one of the student-owned buildings.
I worked as the Transportation Demand Management coordinator for a municipality for over 3 years to develop sustainable transportation policies and programs that reduce emissions from transportation. I am now persuing a Masters in Urban Planning with a focus on transportation and climate change.
I continue to contribute my extra time to working within the community to educate and increase awareness about climate change, environmental sustainability, and conservation. I took on the role of Policy Coordinator for the Canadian Youth Delegations to the UN Climate Change conferences in Bali (2007) and Poznan (2008). My UN participation also includes the 2005 International Youth Conference on Climate Change in Montreal, the 2006 United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development.
I am looking forward to continuing this learning experience and contributing further to the discussion on climate change in Copenhagen, Denmark this December for COP15.
