About me
I am a TIG staff Alumni, previously the Project and Community Manager for Youth Media Exchange (ymex.org).
I've worn many hats in my professional and academic life but it has always been centered on creative approaches to positive social change, young people and skill-building - and the global arena in which that all happens. For the last six years digital and online media has been my passion! I have always felt compelled to keep up with global politics, economics, and world trends, as well as spiritual movements and change from the inside-out.
A life spent on travels to many places in the world (and calling four cities and two different continents home!) has given me the sense that I am a global citizen.
I have been living in New York for the past 9 years where I recently obtained my Master's from The New School Graduate Program in International Affairs with a Media in Development concentration. While at the New School, I created two documentary film projects and realized I have a passion for telling stories and examining issues through the medium of digital video. I have a long list of social documentary videos in my head - my ultimate dream is seeing them realized some day.
Recent work/life experience includes: collaboratively creating a long-term evaluation model for the World Bank's first urban development in Dakar, Senegal (Parcelles Assainies!), working on an advocacy project for HIV/AIDS and Violence Against Women, as well as planning public events in the realm of art & politics.
I also play ukulele and practice Kundalini yoga as much as possible...
