About me
I abhor racism, corruption and poverty in any society. This no doubt inspired me to concentrate on alleviating their problems through my studies and researches. Over time, I saw that corruption and poverty have become a problem which needed immediate attention. I have been crusading against corruption and poverty in Africa, particularly Nigeria for over 13 years. Based on my real life encounters in Nigeria and traveling around the world. My initial interest was in agriculture but was redirected to this present course when I observed the escalation of corruption and poverty and failure of many governments and organisations to fight the malaise, which has bedeviled the world. Because corruption hurts the poor mainly, fighting it became a task that must be put into reality.
I have been researching on corruption practically for over 13 years but my postgraduate studies brought me to terms with documentation of corruption and poverty through academic research. My research interests focus on good governance (transparency and accountability) and poverty alleviation in Africa.
As a doctorate student at the University of Reading, United Kingdom, I designed the first unique methodology used in measuring corruption at household level (focus groups) in Africa. It is worthy to note that my methodology facilitated 2 successful corruption surveys on 135 income households, 68 key and area informants, stratified and randomly selected, based on their income levels – low, medium and high, and how Police corruption impacts on provision of security, protection of lives and properties, and maintenance of law and order.
In addition, I have 13 years frontline experience in Agricultural Cooperative Extension, Advocacy/Campaign, Monitoring and Evaluation, Teaching and Training the Trainers, Fund-raising, Youth/women organization/Development, Conflict Management and Resolution. I have a versatile background and has worked and volunteered for Federal Ministry of Agriculture, DFRRI and several Bilateral, Multilateral, Not-for-Profit Organisations funded by the UN, EEC, USAID and ILO in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, India, the Netherlands, United States and Britain and has traveled to several African, Asian European and North American countries.
In States, I am privileged to have visited 32 states and have resided in lllinois, Georgia, California, Ohio and now my State Pennsylvania where I reside permanently. I have a Ph.D in Geography (Research), M.A in International Security Studies and MSc in Agricultural Extension Systems and Management, From the University of Reading, United Kingdom, and Diploma in Anti-corruption Training, from U4 Corruption Resource Center, Bergen, Norway, and other numerous educational and training qualifications.
I am very passionate about fighting corruption in Africa. I have lit many candles burning continuously to echo the anti-corruption theme:
"We must all be united globally to fight corruption. It is not only an Africa problem. Corruption occurs in every country in the world. It is not the governments that can fight corruption but the people, especially the youths, when they are empowered. This is the time for us to work in unison and empower the African youths through education, and training, so that they could fight corruption head-on, from the grassroots to the the top. This would make them become, good, transparent and accountable leaders of their countries.
