About me
Dragan Rivas (1948 NAISS)' painting is based on the man's search for the perfection of human being, whom the power of creativity and, especially, the power of aesthetic creativity is given. He emphasizes painting as an expression of communication and announcement of the spiritual moment that creator - a man finds himself.
That is why the subjects of Dragan Rivas' paintings are imbued with the man's search for dreams, mysticism and faith in Christ's gospels, giving the meaning of human existence; he records and leaves the tracks of messages by respecting the need for a constant self-revealing, that is , the revealing of nature that surrounds him.
Artist
The constant quarrel between reality and dreams makes him acceptable, consciously of unconsciously, the themes and motives that are characteristic of his expressive possibilities. The meaning of his search is expressed through stylistic categories of painting; he respect realism and finds it unavoidable, but he also moves from real to unreal and gives the special emphasis to surrealism, because it has the power of refilling the dreams, spiritual impulses.
Therefore, looking at Dragan Rivas' paintings, we can see his unambiguous determination to man's destiny; which is an eternal subject in painting; he based his painting on the men's most delicate senses and a need to create or explain dreams that represent human subconscious existence and a riddle that men want to discover and make it real.
That is by looking at Dragan Rivas' paintings, we are in a constant dilemma do we observe dreams or the subconscious need to live in them by revealing the truth about man, as a conscious being of the power and need for creative impulses.
