About me
Over the past years, Davis Opoku has been involved in the field of youth activism and Empowerment, mostly in Ghana. Davis was the Secretary for the Students Representative Council of Nkwatia Senior High School, Ghana during the 2001/2002 academic year. He has been the Protocol Secretary of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), University of Cape Coast chapter where he established the NUGS Aid Fund (A fund that has since helped needy but brilliant students in the University). He was among 250 youth selected to the National Youth Parliament during the 50th Anniversary celebration of Ghana where they made input into the national youth policy, an event which was telecast live on the National Television. In 2007, he was part of the privileged few Africans who participated in the African Union Summit in Accra. The grand debate on African unity was discussed there. He was a delegate to the US-Africa consultative summit (AGOA) in 2007. He also took part in the African Union Youth Parliament. He is the President of the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), University of Cape Coast Chapter; He is the Membership Director of the Nyansapow Leo Club, an activity of the Lions Clubs International where he has taken part in the organisation of many international events. He is the Executive Director of Updav Consult, a youth-led development organisation in Ghana which has been championing the achievement of the millennium development Goals in Ghana and Africa. He is a peer educator and always yearning for newer challenges that makes this world a better place. Davis hopes to be an environmentalist, championing environmental issues in Ghana and Africa at large.
