I really enjoyed this online blog article, especially the part where you talk about that girl who comes up to you and says: “I totally know what you mean but you shouldn’t look at it that way. Sure there are a lot of problems in the world but there are also a lot of good people who do good things too, you should focus on that.” It is a really powerful statement, it simply surprised me that a grade 9 student was able to grasp what's going on around her with such a macro-view of the world.
Truly, teaching and learning comes in a pair. It can be extremely hard to say who really is the "teacher." Just when you were trying to encourage them to think about and participate in the "dignity" topic, they surely inspired you with their unfiltered thoughts.
The thing that makes TIG an amazing platform is that it addresses all kinds of world issues with specific tasks, rather than being an up-in-the-air organization. World affairs can be depressing because they are just too big to be handled by any one person, and it is great networks like TIG that bring people together and spread this positive energy.
