About me
I'm a second year cegep student in Liberal Arts. I love to dance; I take both ballet and modern dance classes. I have also been in involved with Amnesty International since grade 7.
I have now been working at a pool for over a year. I lifeguard, but I also teach lessons, an aquafit class, a train the 8 and under swim team and I coach the senior synchro team. Its very time consuming but lots of fun.
I am also very involved with my student union. Last may, i was elected president, so I'm very excited for the upcoming year. This is also my second year sitting on my school's academic cousil. I'm really happy about the leadership opportunities these two positions give me.
I am also one of the three leader of a multi issue group at my cegep, called JACtivists. We deal with human rights, political, social and environmental issues. I will also be putting together a group to go to various Model UN.
This last June, I attended the Human Rights College for youth, organized by Amnesty International, before attending their AGM.
Last August, I also attended the World Youth Congress in Quebec City. I feel incredibly lucky to have attended this congress along with 500 other delegates from around the world. As part of the congress, I attended the World Youth Walk and the Governor General dialogue.
I have participated in many other smaller scale congresses and activities like the National Youth Caucus in Ottawa, in July 2007, or the competition Solidarité en Herbe organized by l'AQOCI.
Basically, I'm someone who loves to get involves and I really hope to make a difference. I will be starting university next year and I'm really excited about the opportunity to take classes on all of what passionates me. (Still have to go through the struggle of choosing a uni!!!)
