About me
Alison Burkett is an international peace educator, consultant, humanitarian and social entrepreneur born and raised in Toronto, Canada.
Alison is a highly skilled educator and facilitator with a unique gift for creating safe spaces for learning. In addition to holding a Master of Education in Adult Education and Community Development from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE), at the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Political Science, she has studied under leading teachers in the fields of peacebuilding, self-awareness, leadership and mindfulness.
She first travelled to Rwanda in 2011, returning for the second time in 2012. Each visit brings a greater appreciation for the wisdom and strength of “the land of a thousand hills”.
As a consultant and social entrepreneur Alison has the capacity to manage high impact teams and projects with precision, integrity and vision. She is the recipient of the 2012 Pearson Foundation Fellowship for Social Innovation and is a leading member in the Feminine Power Global Community. In 2011 she led the board wide implementation of a mindfulness and social emotional curriculum in the Toronto Catholic District School Board.
Alison brings depth of heart and richness of compassion to all of her work.
