About me
Abel Molina Cabreros is a case worker and a multi-awarded playwright.
He has been employed at Countryside Association's Lakeside Work and Training Center as Training Specialist since 2001. He works in a classroom with several individuals that have severe and profound mental retardation.
A major in Psychology, Abel was accredited with a Bachelor's Degree by the World Education Services in New York. The Bureau of Human Resources Development has completed its review of his credentials and has met the State and Federal job and Educational requirements for QMRP. Abel is a Qualified Mental Retardation Professional by the Illinois Department of Human Services.
A Certificate of Achievement was awarded for his exemplary contribution in enriching the lives of people with developmental disabilities. His feat has been recognized as extraordinary by the organization he works with, the same citations given by the Illinois Chapter of the American Association on Mental Retardation (AAMR). He received a Parchment Copy of the 108th Congressional Record of the United States of America Vol. 149 in which his achievement will be permanently entered by Senator Richard Durbin addressed to the President of the United States.
Abel is also a noted poet, film scriptwriter and a production designer in the Philippine cinema.
He was awarded as a National Fellows of the University of the Philippines' Creative Writing Center 1993; a two-time Grand Prize winner of the Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards in playwriting, the country's most prestigious and highest literary benchmark equivalent to the Pulitzer's Prize. His winning works have been produced and staged at the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) and Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
Abel has worked with the country's finest directors and award winning actors on stage, TV and films. He has established his name as one of the respected writers in his country, most of his works dealing with psychological punch.
