About me
I HAVE NO MASK TO WEAR (by Ineke Bosman, Ghana)
I have no mask to wear
I miss what people have
I have no act to play
My face is round and bare
The slightest slight
A shaming stare
I blush and shrink
Where I should fight
From day to day I stumble
Into this social crap the social trap
I have no act to play
No face to wear
Daily I get bruised this way
While you out there
Have food have fun
Are not aware
How much it hurts
To have no mask to wear
MORNING ROSE
I was once walking down a sunset day
When I saw a bird,
Sitting on a branch of a rose tree
And singing a song that was so appealing
To my ears
So I took my pen and paper
And begun to write the words of the song
It says,
"Come back sun,
Don't leave me here alone,
I have been sitting here for too long a time,
Waiting and watching your growing beauty
As the day unfolds like a morning rose,
The wind is turning cold
And the day is growing old
But my story still remains untold,
You know you are my only comforter
In times like this,
But I can't stop you from going home
Come tomorrow morning
And you will see me here, still waiting
Hoping you will return with my hope,"
Soon I saw myself in the world of the bird
Weeping and waving at you
As the sun closes her door,
Hoping you've heard my words.
