About me
I was born in Dakar, Senegal and I grew up in between the US and Senegal. My goal in the next 10 years is to help make the millennium development goals see day light. I think this project was a great initiative that is very much in process, but the youth has to get more involved world wide. Also the MDG's should not be overlooked as a set of goals that will never happen, we need to think positive. There are many problems that the MDG's can solve. I am currently working on a mobilization to educate the youth in my college about the MDG's, many of these young people have no clue it even exist. So i make it a personal duty to educate my fellow youth members of the MDG's.
I am also very interested in goal 6 of the MDG's which addresses HIV/AIDS, which is one of africa's biggest enemy. It's not only about educating people about HIV/AIDS, but it's also about understanding ones culture and social way of life. Example a woman married to a man with 3 other wives, knowing his husband is having affairs outside the marriage is a victim. Many wouldn't risk talking about HIV/AIDS or the use of condoms for fear of abuse, divorce, or because she wants kids. There are many different scenarios that can lead HIV/AIDS, and understanding the social, cultural, and even ethical background of people is the key.
Well this is a little about me, my taught etc....
