About me
Rosalyn Yake founded Starfish Scholarships in 2009 after winning $10,000 in a national video contest. She holds a B.A in journalism from Ryerson University and an M.A in Indigenous Studies from Trent University. She has worked for CBC radio in Quebec City, and her writing has been published in the Toronto Star online, This Magazine, The Toronto Quarterly, and Metro Newspaper. She currently works for the Ontario Public Service.
Rosalyn is passionate about working with young people. Her career has included positions with the International Institute for Child Rights and Development based in Vancouver, the Glocal Forum in Rome, Italy, and Havergal College in Toronto. She completed her Gold level of the Duke of Edinburgh leadership program, and attended the International Gold Event in Hong Kong and China in 2005. She has also served as a member of the Youth Advisory Group for the Canadian Commission for UNESCO.
