About me
I'm a passionate idealist firmly committed to achieving success for the causes I champion. I am a persistent advocate of youth empowerement, and am planning to enter the civil service as a career.
I have just finished High School, or Juniour College in Singapore, and did Economics, History and Literature at the British System's Advanced Level. Next year I will be enlisted in the Singaporean Army and following that attend University. Hopefully i'll get into Harvard in America, or the London School of Economics in Britain.
I first elucidated the need for greater youth participation in matters of public policy at Singapore's Free Speech Corner at the age of 14. I was the youngest member of the public to do so, and my speech was reported on by 3 local papers and cited in the front page of Malaysia's leading paper, the New Straits Times.
Since then, I have never shirked from what I view as a duty to my peers. I am currently serving my first elected term as a member of my local Youth Executive Committee, which promotes community level youth involvement projects. I am currently its IT and Publicity Secretary. Our YEC's pet project is bridging the IT divide through Project Initiate, a programme that aims to set up hardware in developing countries that need it.
For hobbies, I bowl, swim, jog and debate. Currently i'm taking some time off to appreciate gothic literature, and am attempting to learn two beautiful European languages, French and Italian.
