The Rapid Results Approach (RRA) is a leadership tool designed to empower teams to achieve meaningful results in the short run that are linked to long-term development objectives. The approach has been successfully implemented in Kenya in a number of areas within the Economic Recovery Strategy (ERS) - (water services, HIV/AIDS & public security). The Ministry of Planning & National Development is the recipient of an Institutional Development (IDF) Grant designed to accelerate project/program implementation using the RRA in a number of sectors. One component of the Grant is to transfer these skills to Kenyan coaches.
The Rapid Results Coach works directly with several different parties throughout the process. The Coach consistently strives to ensure that the effort yields tangible and meaningful benefits at both the initiative and the strategic level.
The RRA Coach: Helps the strategic leader identify learning goals and urgent improvement opportunities within a strategic focus area; Helps the strategic leader shape an executable challenge to the RRI team leader; Prepares RRI’s for launch by training team leaders and identifying pre-launch action items; Leads the RRI launch workshop; Ensures that the team goal and work plan are clear, challenging, and innovative; Helps the team leader plan effective team meetings; Coaches the strategic leader, team leader, and team members to optimize team energy and participation throughout the process; Facilitates the mid-point and wrap-up reviews, and clarifies follow-up actions that will ensure or sustain RRI success; Works with the team leader and strategic leader to plan the expansion of RRI achievements.

7TH - 12TH NOV. 2003 : INVITATION - THE GREAT LAKES REGION YOUTH LEAGUE EXCHANGE PROGRAM: The Great Lakes region Youth League exchange program took place from 7th to 12th November 2003 at Mandela Sports Hotel, Kampala.
The youth from various countries converged to share their experiences, learn more about Africa’s Challenges in order to fight for a common goal. The exchange program centred on the youth participation in the East African Regional & Continental challenges that include, Armed conflicts, HIV & Aids, poverty, regional integration & the African Union.
: Experienced presenters engaged youth in discussions centred on charting a way forward for the Youth in the 21st century in the East African Region. These included H.E President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda who discussed a topic on: ”Is Pan Africanism a solution to the on-going conflicts in the region? Regional Integration as a case of economic development - Where are the young People?”, Prof. Kanyadogo - Nkozi University (Ethinicity, Tribalism & Religious Fundamentalism in the region), Dr. Mushemeza - Makerere University (Africa must unite - the only solution to the current African Challenges. Where are we so far and why?), Fotmata Toure - Pan African Movement (The role if the youth and Women in African struggles from Independence to date) among others. A report was availed to participants of present countries.
: Some notable organizations that were represented include Uganda Young Democrats (UYD), ANC Youth Congress (ANC – YC), Tanzanian Youth Council, Save Somali Youth, The Sudan Youth League, The Rwandese Youth Initiative, The Ugandan Junior Youth Council, National Forum Agenda Youth League of Uganda, Tororo District Youth Forum, Youth for Action for Peace & Development in Southern Sudan among others.
AUGUST 2003 : INTERNATIONAL REPUBLICAN INSTITUTE – IRI, NAIROBI – I successfully participated and completed “The Young Political Leaders Training Camp” at Hippo Camp, Naivasha organized by IRI. Training entailed Strategic Planning, Mobilizing Skills, Public Speaking, Leadership Skills, East African Integration Initiatives – The Role of the Youth, Enhancing Democracy & Good Governance in the East African Region.
NARC Youth Congress Participated among other participants from Uganda, Tanzania, Sudan, Somali, Rwanda, Burundi, Eritrea, Djibout among other youth from the NGOs and institutions of High Learning. The Great Lakes Region Youth League was formally established with its Headquarters in Kampala – Uganda.
: This program was also done in Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, South Africa, Malawi, Zambia, and Zimbabwe among other countries in Africa in order to strengthen the Youth Participation on the African Integration – in the spirit of the African Union. There is still an urgent need to form an East African Youth Council.

2001 TO 2005 : Working as a Trainer of Trainers, Peer Educator & Facilitator with The National Organization of Peer Educators (NOPE), a Non – Governmental Organization registered in Kenya and professionally run by peer educators, facilitators and trainers.
NOPE spearheads and harmonizes peer education activities using a standardized curriculum and Behaviour Change Communication (BCC) strategy. Targets other peer educators and TOTs from workplaces, youth and other community groups. Provision of a range of professional services and technical assistance to companies, NGOs and other organizations wishing to establish and manage comprehensive HIV and AIDS programs, including peer education and Behaviour Change Communication Strategies.

SINCE SEPT. 2003 : I am a member of The Global Youth Partners (GYP) – Kenya Chapter. This is a Youth-centered initiative based on the philosophy of youth-adult partnership. It was founded in September 2003 by a group of 38 young people between the ages of 15 and 26 years from 27 countries globally. It is supported financially and logistically by UNFPA – United Nations Population Fund. It aims to rally partners and stakeholders through advocacy to increase investment and strengthen commitment for preventing HIV infections among young people. The main theme for the advocacy campaign is “increased access to HIV prevention information, education and services, especially, among underserved /marginalized youth.”
SINCE 1997 TO DATE : Member of the National Steering Committee: In the formulation of the Kenya National Youth Policy & Plan of Action under the Ministry of Gender, Sports, Culture & Social Services – Youth Division in collaboration with GTZ – Prosyr, Youth Member Organizations, Development Partners, Donor Agencies among other Stakeholders in Kenya.
