About me
Originally hailing from Philadelphia, PA, I attended college in Middlebury, VT where I majored in geography and environmental studies. My studies often came secondary however, since most of my education occurred outside of the classroom through organizing around global warming and other sustainability issues with my peers. After graduating from college in the spring, I hopped over to New Hampshire to begin work on Climate Summer, a student-led effort to organize a 5 day march across New Hampshire in order to call for national action on climate change in the key primary state. Following this effort, I stuck around in New Hampshire to work on the second round of Step It Up 2007, a national day of climate change action, which helped to organize over 2000 rallies around the U.S., all calling for 80% cuts in carbon emissions by 2050. I am optimistic about the U.S. beginning to finally move in the right direction on this issue, and am now hoping to see how we can begin to look for a global solution for this most global of problems.
I'm now working as a co-coordinator for a new global climate change project, 350.org, that is calling for bold, scientifically-based action on climate change at the international level.
