About me
I am currently writing my honours thesis at the Australian National University, addressing the role played by leadership in the international fight against climate change. I spent a year on exchange at the University if Copenhagen in Denmark, assisting NGOs such as Oxfam and WWF in preparing for the critical UN climate summit to be held there at the end of this year. My somewhat unusual combination of majors, International Relations and Film, has lead me to work as a freelance journalist, with publications in The Guardian and The Diplomat, along with a handful of documentary film credits on topics such as refugees and human rights. This year, I represented Australia at the Global Humanitarian Forum in Geneva, after attending the UNFCCC negotiations in Bonn, Germany as a fellow of the Avaaz Climate Action Factory. Back in my hometown Perth, I earn my rent working as a fashion designer for local boutiques. I’m on the executive committee of the ANU Mountaineering Club so I get to spend plenty of time in the wild outdoors. My proudest achievement was completing two full-length novels at high school, currently under review for publication, while the worst thing that has ever happened to me was being arrested on the St Petersburg metro by Russian cops.
