About me
I'm a girl who cares about others and about what's happening in the world. Right now, there are a lot of problems in the world and one of my wishes is that we can get over that. For example, I don't like to see children suffering due to a lack of food and water in their country. I think that every kid should be able to go to school and eat as much as they want.
Therefore, every country should participate in this and help the countries who are in need. On the other hand, right now, I am studying in college in social sciences and I work in a grocery store. Next year, I'm going to study in administration at HEC Montréal. Finally, a leader for me is someone who has great values, who is able to make others believe in what he believes and it is someone who has positive energy that makes the others wanting to follow him in what he does.
Eliminate Poverty all Around the World: A Must!
Right now, I’m studying in social sciences, so poverty is an issue related to my field of study that touches me, especially in Africa. I wanted to get involved in this issue, because even if Canada is a rich country, it is important to realize that there are a lot of countries all around the world who lives with not too many resources. So, I think that as a rich country, we should create programs to help the countries in need, for example, the ones in Africa. Why we should do this? Because 34 countries out of 49 Least Developed Countries are in Africa and it is said that the developed countries are way ahead of those countries. This is why I decided to create a petition on Taking It Global website to get involve in this issue, and to show the entire world that even if I live in Canada, a rich country, I care about poverty all around the world .
First of all, it is shown that the level of unemployment in Africa is at its highest right now, and even if those countries are really poor, their governments are doing something to try to help them. In addition, the access to water, and other important resources like these, is very difficult in the Least Developed Countries. Some of them don’t even have a shelter to live under. So, even if their governments install policies, the situation is very critical, and it makes it harder for them to get raid of poverty in their countries. To me, that doesn’t make sense, and this is why I think that there is an urgency of doing something to make their lives better, to give them the important resources they need to live well, and to support their governments who have a big task to achieve.
Furthermore, there is another problem that goes with the lack of access to resources, it’s the communication system. It is explained in a project I found on TIG, that countries like Canada are way ahead in terms of technology. Plus, if we want to make a difference, it might be a good thing to use internet, because it is said, in this project, that if the developed nations want to make a difference, they should use internet. Why? Because it has been proven in statistics, that internet helps to increase development. Moreover, the penetration rate of internet is ten time higher than what they can reach in LDC. This proves to me that getting involved on the internet may really help to eliminate poverty in the world or at least, get the others realizing the magnitude of this issue.
Finally, because of the critical situation that reign in Africa, since too many years, it is important for me to do something to make everybody realize that it is important that rich countries such as Canada to get involve in this issue. With all the resources that we have, and all the technological gadgets, we can surely help to make a difference, and who knows, maybe one day poverty in Africa will be behind us? This is why I created this petition, and I hoped that a lot of you will join it.
