Rose-Ann Yvette Foster-Vaughan PERSONAL D.O.B: 9th August 1968 ADDRESS:On the Beautiful Caribbean Island of Barbados, West Indies DISABILITY:Cerebral Palsy INTEREST My involvement within the disabled movement spans a time period of 18 years, within a multiplicity of roles which have created the well-rounded individual which I have seen myself become. Over the years I’ve had an input in my government’s “White Paper” for Persons with Disabilities (although not legislated as yet), I sent a short time in Portugal observing their Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Programme, and I have represented the Council at various levels – including of: • Inter-American Development Bank (IADB) - Past Advisor on the Civil Society Advisory Group (CISAG), • Disabled Peoples’ International (DPI) Winnipeg Canada - World Summit: “Diversity Within” - Submission & Presentation on HIV/AIDS- The Epidemic & Its Impact on Women with Disabilities • UNDP Barbados & OECS – Mainstreaming Disability Issues into HIV Programs , dialogue among the Caribbean Islands, - Presentation HIV/AIDS- The Epidemic & Its Impact on Women with Disabilities to a World Bank Forum in Washington D.C • Inter-American Development Bank – Initiative for the Promotion of Regional Public Goods - Conceiving regional solutions for regional problems, Barbados Council for the Disabled/World Bank Representative – Conference on HIV/AIDS as it relates to Persons with Disabilities • Presented a paper on “Informing and Consulting with Persons with Disabilities on HIV/AIDS, • Global Partners in Action – NGO Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Development – UNFPA “Invest in Heath, Rights and the Future” – Berlin Germany PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY I can do anything I set me mind to PROFESSIONAL PHILOSOPHY Striving for Excellence HOBBIES My hobbies reflects my carefree attitude to life, and when I travel (whether on business or holiday) the highpoint of my visit is to treat myself to a good meal, and arrange for a good sightseeing tour of which ever country I am in; I love Europe, especially Sweden, its architecture is simply beautiful. I am very fond of new experiences because it creates opportunities to meet new people, which expose one to other cultures.
