I also serve as Executive Director for EDAFRICOM. EDAFRICOM is a newly established group of computer technocrats (Hardware TEchnician, Programmers, Networking TEchnician, Website Designers, Microsoft office Specialist etc). EDAFRICOM is a non profit group of IT individuals that are uniting themselves to enhance thier skills and expand the world of IT in Liberia and the west african sub region. Since his first encountered with the computer as a young boy, Saah has always known what he wanted to do with his life – TO BE A COMPUTER TECHNICIAN; and a very good one for that matter. His conviction and dream has prepared him through turbulent times in his country to acquire recognized Certificates in both Hardware and Software from two Computer Training Institutions in Accra, the Republic of Ghana, west Africa, all while serving as a refugee. Saah currently works at the Cheale Vocational Training (C.V.T.I), Liberia, West Africa as a Software Instructor and Hardware Technician. Endeavoring to impact into his compatriots the knowledge of Computer Science as his way of contributing his quota to the reconstruction program of his war ravaged country, Liberia. His work also include rendering a good amount of his time as a Volunteer Software Trainer at a Y.M.C.A. run Computer School geared towards empowering the young people, especially the less fortunate and war affected youth within the Liberian Society. This effort has won international acclaim as it introduces young people to the once elusive world of Information Technology. Saah posses a huge sense of responsibility. This has been a major factor in his influence and performance on the job. He takes what is required of him very seriously and doesn’t sit idle and expect things to happen. That’s what he strongly believes in what Wilson Mizner once said: “The gentleman who wakes up and finds himself a success has not been asleep.” Saah is currently an undergraduate student at the University of Liberia majoring in Accounting. He believes that forming a perfect blend of his Computer and Accounting Knowledge prepares him for the huge task of enveloping Liberia and the West African sub-region with the impact of information technology in everyday life. A major task which lies ahead of EDAFRICOM. Saah was born in Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa, but his upbringing has been characterized largely with a period of upheaval within his country which has brought him in contact and working with people of all backgrounds. Through all this time, he has traveled extensively in the West African sub-region in countries like Ghana, Sierra Leone, Guinea, and Ivory Coast. An experience which has given him vast understanding of human relations and interactions. The thing that inspire Saah, as his favorite quote summarizes is: “Success is to be measured not so much by position that one has reached in life…but by the obstacles which he has overcome while trying to succeed.” The urge to succeed. The drive to know that you have impact in somebody’s life despite the bottlenecks and obstacles. The smiles that you see on the faces of people whose life you have changed forever, after all seem to have been lost, the depth of gratitude he receive in whatever way through his humanitarian and volunteer work. The desire to cultivate the skills of war-affected youth in his country and the satisfaction received from the performance of people whose life he had made a significant impact in. During his work with EDAFRICOM, he endeavors to devise a strategic business model. This strategy is based on a direct and flexible business model. This model seeks to deliver a superior customer relationships, collaborative research and development with technology partners and Group of Computer Technocrats (Hardware Technicians, programmers, website designers, Computer Specialists etc). |
