Welcome and thank you for your interest in Youthcom. Youthcom is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to informing, representing and catering for the interest of young people, adults alike and issues affecting them with the aim of effecting a positive socio-global transformation and development. By “positive socio-global transformation” we mean man’s effort, our effort in effecting a positive change in attitude towards humanity in and from our physical and socio-political environment. From where we are directed to the point we want it. Maintaining a balance in our society is the major social responsibility of everyone. Young and old educationist of the Lagos State College of Primary Education, Noforija-Epe, Lagos are no exception. Quoting His Excellency Boutros Boutros Ghali, ,former United Nations Secretary-General that, “One thing is certain - there can be no sustainable development without promoting and thus without respect for human rights. Only by heightening the international community’s awareness of human rights in this way and involving everyone in this effort can we prevent future violations that our conscience, and the law will condemn.” Youthcom will be working co-operatively with the academic staffs of the Lagos State College of Primary Education (LACOPED),clubs and faculties in other higher institution, ministries of education, religious institution, the media, corporate bodies, governmental and non-governmental organizations globally in accomplishing our goals. The world conference has made it clear that the respect for fundamental freedom is crucial to the future well-being of humanity and Youthcom supports this timely initiative, as everyone in the world should be free to express themselves. Primarily, targeted and strategic steps of action shall be directed to the areas of : * Reproductive Health (Youth concern) * Human Rights Protection with emphasis on gender and child rights. These actions are directed ,to the government, the judicial system and stakeholder for immediate response. Plan of Action 1. Awareness 2. Dialogue 3. Feedback 4. Teamwork Awareness Youthcom is charged with the responsibility of providing background and up-to-date information on issues at the local, state, national and even at the international level. This is made possible through our network of non-governmental organizations around the world via letters, publications and the press. Dialogue: Democratic Principle Youthcom provides an online and offline platform for all to discuss freely and air our views in concern for our world. Allowing for the presentation and argument ,of cases with a view of negotiating changes. Feedback Youthcom is also accountable to all her potential sponsors; individuals and corporate bodies, governmental organizations, local and international non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and concerned members of the public. Teamwork We will be working with the academic staff of the School of Social Science (LACOPED), unions of other higher institutions, ministries of education, religious institutions, the media, corporate bodies, governmental and non-governmental organizations around the world for our goals to be jointly achieved. WORLD CAMPUS PARLIAMENT Campus Parliament is an initiative of the Res"Q" Ranjazz Family ,Youthcom and the National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee,Lagos axis. Pictorial and diagramatic illustrations (photos) should be included where necessary. A hard copy of such manuscript (on paper) and digitally stored on a diskette should be submitted. The applicable reference numcber,title of such write-up,name,address,institution and other necessary information should be typed on a separate paper. Reference where indicated should conform with the latest form of the American psychological Association (APA) format. The parliament shall not be responsible for manuscripts and any other material lost in transit.
