I am a simple undergraduate who like almost everyone else here, believes she can change the world. Youth apathy is currently the most pressing thing on my list of "I hope to change". Youth holds the promises of better days but for many, it remains only a promise of youth. Idealism and passion are not qualities valued enough and it is sad because many have given it up without even trying to bring something out of it. While I still have the energy, I will keep trying and who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to influence youths in Singapore (sheltered and protected so much so they don't see a need to continue to believe in the autonomy and strength of the self and individual) to take an interest in the things around them.
