 About Me |
I'm a male youth aged 27, i come from a place called Kapenguria in northern Kenya. Northern kenya is a very dry and marginalised area. I hail from among a pastoralist community who live on pastoralism. I'm a social entreprenuer since i work with the pastoralist youth to bring positive sustainable social change among this forgotten group of youths in Kenya. I'm currently working as a volunteer programs coordinator at a youth based organization called Pastoralist youth network group. I like working with the youths since they are the future of any community. In northern Kenya youth face several challenges that includes but no limited to; unemployment, insecurity, illiteracy, violation of youth rights, , lack of awareness in HIV/AIDS and lack of access to education, poor leadership that is not youth friendly among others.
My organization works with other development partners to bring a sustainable change among the youths in northern Kenya.
A part from being a volunteer project coordinator of a youth based organization, i also hold membership to other organizations in Kenya that subscribe to the ideals of changing the world positively. I'm the alumni of the political leadership development programme (PLDP2). This is a group of high calibre youths in Kenya who have outstanding leadership qualities and who have gone through a rigorous leadership training programme; courtsey of the Youth Agenda (YA), Citizens coalition for the constitutional culture (4C'S) in partnership with Friedrich Ebert Stiftung. (FES).
I'm also a member of the Youth Agenda (YA)as well as being a member at the national convention executive council (NCEC).
I'm also a life member of the Kenya Red Cross Society (KRCS)- West pokot branch, to support its work in alleviating human suffering .
I'm a volunteer who works towards changing lives among the poor and excluded people in the society.
I'm also currently serving as a board member of Action Aid international Kenya (AAIK). Actionaid is an organization that works with the poor and marginalized people so as to fight injustices and eradicate poverty that causes it in the world.
i also represent the youth from my constituency at the commonwealth national youth parliament representative for Kapenguria constituency in Kenya.
My vision as a young person is to see a youth that is empowered both socially and economically so as to be able to face the challenges of this world as a well informed and equipped individual.
