About me
I am an Associate Professor with joint appointments in Psychology and Interactive Computing at Georgia Institute of Technology. My research is in assistive technology and generally improving the lives of people with special challenges. A lot of what I study involves auditory and multimodal interfaces.
I was born in Montreal, Canada, and grew up all across the Great White North. I've spent time in many of Canada's major cities. As a teenager I attended Lester B. Pearson College, one of the United World Colleges, where I forged friendships with kindred spirits from all over the world. I have enjoyed traveling a lot, visiting many friends, and taking a fair few photographs along the way. I have served on the Board of Directors of the UWC, and am now working with several organizations and schools that address teh needs of persons with disabilities.
I practice the defensive art of Ju Jutsu, and am interested in Human Languages, and people and places that promote Peace and International Understanding.
