About Me

My interests are varied and they have given me a variety of experiences. I have worked with DevNet on the use of Information and Communications Technology for development and this has involved various kinds of research. I like using Open Source software and am an active user.
I also volunteer with Help & Shelter, an organisation which deals with domestic violence and child abuse. The roles here include advocacy and public education, including some difficult education to people on the issue of changing their habits of beating children as a form of discipline. I am a member of SASOD, an organisation in Guyana which is working against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity. I am one of the programmers for the SASOD LGBTT Film Festival which is held in June.
