I am currently responsible at Motorola for Business Transformation and IT projects. During my tenure with leading multi-national corporations, I have controlled and managed budgets to the tune of several million dollars and projects spanning several geographies including global ones. A Majority of my professional career has been with multi-national companies in the Retail and Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) space, like Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble. I have held leadership positions in IT with these companies and have managed several multi-million dollar projects for them. As a member of the Leadership Council at Coca-Cola India, my key task apart from keeping Coke at the forefront of IT technology was to influence the business strategy. My professional career spans over 17 years of rich work experience in leading trans-nationals. I setup Brown Orange Consulting in mid 2005, with development centres in India. Prior to that, I moved to the UAE in Jan 2003 with “International Food Stuffs Company”(IFFCO), a large conglomerate, based out of the Middle East, which has offices all over the UAE, in addition to Egypt and Malaysia, holding the position of CIO for the group, directly reporting into the Chairman. Before moving to the UAE in 2003, I have been with Coca-Cola India as their Chief Information Officer, for about 8 years, with direct reporting to the CEO; I have also been a member of the Leadership Council at Coke. As a member of the Leadership Council at Coca-Cola India, my key task apart from keeping Coke at the forefront of IT technology was to influence the business strategy. I believe that my business experience combined with Information Technology (IT) gives me an edge to recommend and deliver technology solutions in line with the business requirements. I hold good subject matter expertise in most of the organization functions, and have also been involved and part of the project teams for implementing cross-functional projects. I have worked with Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble when they re-entered the country (India) and have been involved with them right from the grass roots level. This experience empowers me to grasp business process issues and engage in result oriented discussions with Functional Heads / Managers or Key Task Members. I have managed multi-million dollar projects spanning across the value chain, in the areas of ERP, Outsourcing and Application Development both as a steering committee member and also as a Program Manager. Among others, I have also managed one of the larger Outsourcing deals in the country, while with Coca-Cola India, involving 3 large multi-national players and with teams of close to 100 people. I have defined and monitored SLA’s for multiple projects across several IT vendors or partners. I have also drawn up, presented and managed Annual Business Plans for IT to the Board and senior management and have also worked with Functional Heads in coming up with joint Business and IT budgets. My work experience in multiple geographies and countries like U.S., U.K., Singapore, Dubai, etc. has enabled me to understand business, people and cross cultural issues and puts me in a good position to approach problem solving. I am pursuing my Doctorate (PhD) in Strategic IT Management and have presented several papers in different areas at National and International Forums. I hold honorary positions with prestigious academic institutions. I have been formally trained in International Project Management Methodologies and Practices. I am also a member of the reputed International Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) and holds the CISM certification from ISACA, information systems and audit control association I have been admitted into the International Who’s Who society in recognition of his having demonstrated exemplary achievement and for making distinguished contributions in the field of Information Technology.
