2.0 Personal Skills: I have excellent analytical communication, creative writing, leadership skills, team player with ability to work under pressure and meet targets with minimal supervision. A trained life and capacity skills facilitator with practical knowledge/experiences in application of participatory methods and a sound moral, social character and commitment; this will enable me deliver and implement activities effectively in programming, gender, advocacy, community mobilization and to build a strong partnership network in a multicultural – sectorial setting. 3.0 Knowledge: I’m from a poor – rural community, so I have a practical experience of poverty and how it affects communities especially women and children (the most vulnerable groups). Also as social and researcher worker in socio cultural issues poverty is a major challenge which affects various aspects of community development, thus since my capacity has been built over the years by formal and informal training, practice and involvement in issues like poverty reduction, HIV cross cutting issues, OVC’s, malaria, rural infrastructure development initiatives etc, makes me more competent in this targeted intervention. As a rights and gender Activist, I’ve been empowered and trained for effective programming in community based projects and have participated in community programmes. Furthermore, I have been trained and have personally studied and applied participatory methodologies (Participatory Rural Appraisal, Reflect and Stepping Stones Approaches) in programming for developmental activities in Nigeria. As a geologist, my knowledge of natural resources and skill in resource mobilization will enable me initiate a culturally sustainable industrial projects and strategies that will empower the rural dwelling people as a result of this intervention. My knowledge and understanding of research, research based computer software (SPSS and Epi Info) and Evaluation tools will enable us access the practical impact of the intervention and help to develop innovative cultural methods due to process monitoring/evaluation thus achieving the overall objective of the project. My knowledge of all Microsoft office suites will enable effective documentation, presentation/advocacy and reporting. Also my knowledge of policy’s, research on poverty, government intervention e.g. NAPEP, programs like NEPAD, NEEDS/SEEDS working documents like PRSP, MDGs as it relates to poverty and poverty reduction will make for effective programming, implementation and sustainability of this intervention. As Project Officer (Rural infrastructure development, poverty reduction, HIV/AIDS and community development projects etc) of my current employer, I am currently a Seasoned a Team Leader, Orientation/Master Trainer/ Logistics Facilitator in the UNICEF National Reproductive Health Project on HIV/AIDS, Research Assistant/Consultant; UNICEF KAP Survey on Key Household Practices (KHHP), Monitoring and Evaluation Consultant – Akwa Ibom State World Bank HIV/AIDS development Project, and Mentor/Networking Partner- Positive Peer Foundation, Akwa Ibom and Delta States etc in Programming, Product and Logistics Service Delivery in projects on HIV/AIDS, Malaria, Behavioral Change Communication and Social Marketing and other Socio - Developmental issues. I have extensive experience and exposure in World Bank, UNICEF, European Union Developmental Projects and other Civil Society Organizations in Planning, Development, Designing, and Implementation, Management and Evaluation. . 4.0 Experience: I have extensive experience and exposure in World Bank, UNICEF, and European Union Developmental Projects and other Civil Society Organizations in, Proposal Development, Planning, Development, Designing, and Implementing, Managing and Evaluation of projects with interests in Logistics, Documentation, Training and Research. I have a Second Class honors Degree in Geology from the Delta State University, Abraka, and M. Sc in view and an Information Technology Professional Certificate from NIIT, Port Harcourt. I did my National Youth Service in Akwa Ibom State where I was involved in a number of Community Developmental Projects and was awarded the: Corps Member of the Year With State Honors Award for Developmental Programmes. My participation at the just concluded International Conference on HIV/AIDS and STDs in Africa (ICASA), 2005 held in Abuja has equipped me with skills in programming in resource poor setting, community mobilization and participation especially in programs by worst hit and vulnerable groups. Also with my training in Leadership, Integrity and effectiveness accountability, Professionalism and democratic governance by Africa Leadership Forum, (ALF) and LEAP Africa; Leadership Integrity Institute, Leader Effectiveness Accountability and Professionalism; I have been equipped with skills to effectively combat corruption and corrupt practices through civil society by building working partnerships and networks for sustainable development in Nigeria. As Project Officer, we have been able to implement the following projects in Delta State which have strengthened my networking skills, thus building strong partnerships and commitment with communities were our projects are sited. • HIV/AIDS - OVC Activities Establishment of an OVC support group Completion of GBI Orphanage Home at Adonishaka Drilling of water borehole and installation of power generating set at GBI. • Community Development /Poverty Reduction Activities Drilling of water boreholes with accompanying facilities at Ekaran/Imiele Oriokan Aliohen • Rehabilitation of Ogwa - Obi multipurpose hall b. I did my National Youth Service in Akwa Ibom State where I carried the following community development projects: • I facilitated the provision of Rural water and sanitation for 3 community ( Ikot Itie Udung; Nsit Atai LGA, Ikot Apka and Nung Udoe Communities Ibesikpo LGA). • Initiated the NYSC Roll Back Malaria Project for these 3 communities for the prevention of maternal mortality and morbidity (Children and Pregnant Women) • Implemented the UNICEF –NYSC Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS Prevention and Care Project, trained total of 80 Peer Educators that cuts across secondary school, undergraduates and students Nurses. • Training of Peer Education Trainer sponsored by UNICEF in Ondo, Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Delta states over a period of 2 years.
