About Me |
Tyrome is of Afro-Caribbean descent and works to secure the rights to our bodies for all marginalized people. He is an independent practitioner with interest in issues related to LGBTQ, youth, people of color and community health. Tyrome began his life work in high school as a HIV/AIDS peer leader for a Community Health Center. As his interest in facilitation and training grew, he pursued instructor certification from Outward Bound USA. Tyrome brings the experiences and love of his diverse communities to create a fusion in the area of youth development, public health, and facilitation.
I am no good at talking about myself in profiles (i don't even have a myspace or facebook). Just ask me a question, I am a open book.

New Era: Movement in Motion is seeking to end the HIV/AIDS crisis, in Boston’s communities of color, in direct response to the 2005 State of Emergency declared by Boston’s City Council. New Era hopes to dismantle stigma by building meaningful dialogue; harness the strength of our spiritualities/faith in order to break the silence and stigma; as well as utilize our creativity, skills and talents to disseminate accurate, relevant, and culturally appropriate HIV/AIDS resources. We are friends and families of the infected. We are organizers, artist, the faithful, youth, adult, and LGBTQ. We are the affected. We are committed to breaking the silence and addressing the disproportionate rates of HIV/AIDS infection amongst our communities. New Era is a movement to infect public health systems with love & social justice values; as well as affect the community’s ability to build and sustain a collective grassroots response.
