Lack of information about available resources and contacts creates a system of inefficiency where many student groups are constantly “reinventing the wheel,” creating a solution to a problem that has already been solved. Currently, it is impossible for a group to find out with whom to talk or what resources exist in a systematic way. There is a poor return on investment for time spent trying to find useful information. There needs to be some way for these groups to effectively communicate with each other to avoid this system of inefficiency. I am passionate. I take action. At Stanford University, there are many student groups that could work together and help each other, but don't because of the many obstacles. I have started a student magazine, which seeks to facilitate collaboration and resource sharing among socially driven student groups by providing the latest developments and opportunities in social entrepreneurship. I like innovation. I am a techie. I've always been fascinated by technology. Technology can benefit our lives in so many ways, especially changing the way information flows. The new challenge in the world is how to apply technology to improve people's lives. I am optimistic. I have hope. I care about the world and I have never been cynical enough to think that the problems of the world were too big to ever be solved. I am one person. I like to meet new people and hear new ideas, because I know I am only one person. It inspires me to know that there are others that share the same passion. Listening to other people's stories makes me feel a part of the world.
