 About Me |
I have a varied career in health promotion/harm reduction and advocasy. I have a habit of starting and/or building up projects and then passing them on - I am a sucker for novelty. I was among the founders of MindBodyLove (www.mindbodylove.org), the Vancouver Area Network of Drug Users (www.vandu.org), and the Mount Pleasant Youth Action Circle. I was the first employee of DanceSafe (www.dancesafe.org) and worked for a year and a half as their Community Organizer, developing and delivering trainings to local chapters throughuout the US and Canada. Currently I am a trainer for the Harm Reduction Training Institute (www.harmreduction.org/hrti/hrti.html), offering workshops in NYC and Oakland, California. I specialize in health promotion programs targetting young people who use drugs and are sexually active. I am also involved in a project working with Vancouver's Department of Social Planning to design and implement a process for youth input in Vancouver City Hall.
