About Me

I have a postgraduate degree on ‘Mountain Environment and Global Change’ from the University of Torino, Italy and a Masters Degree in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University, Nepal.

I have about nine years of working experience in the environment, health and sanitation field including over four years with the Asia regional organization Asia Pacific Mountain Network (APMN), global organization Mountain Forum (MF) and intergovernmental organization International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) as the latest assignment. Prior to my international assignments, I have worked for over 6 years with competent Nepalese NGOs, The Explore Nepal and Nepal River Conservation Trust (NRCT) in various capacities. I worked on various issues including water resources management, climate change, mountain development, knowledge management, health and sanitation and conservation campaigning during my assignments with these organisations. Besides my regular job, I have worked as a part-time Lecturer at couple of colleges affiliated to the Tribhuvan University (TU) and the Purbanchal University (PU). In addition to this, I am owner and global moderator of the Environment Professionals’ Group: Water, Climate Change and Biodiversity Information Network, and serving Environmentalists’ Association of Nepal (EAN) as 2nd Vice-president since December 2006. I am responsible to develop water and climate change related programs for EAN. I served ClimateHimalaya initiative as a founding executive director and coordinated an informal network of climate change professionals across the region.

I have interacted with several health (including HIV/AIDS) related organisations in Nepal during my assignments with the organisations above and also in the capacity of social activist. I am particularly engaged in promoting application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in health sector (e-health) and raising awareness on HIV/AIDS through some youth organisations.
