About Me

I became an electronics technologist after leaving school in 1955 and emigrated to Canada in 1961, I worked for Canadian Marconi on the Mid-Canada Defence Line for 3yrs. In 1967 I was employed by the New Brunswick Institute of Technology as an electronics lab technologist and Academic subjects instructor. I retired from what by then was known as The New Brunswick Community College in 1999 after having worked there for 32 years. In 1999 I took the Learning to Teach On-Line course offered by Sheffield College as a result of my interest in distance learning and computers. In 2002 I was invited by Sheffield College to become a tutor on the Lettol course and accepted the offer. I found the experience to be extremely satisfying and pedagogically stimulating. Prior to retiring I chaired a committee to promote on-line learning and have conducted seminars at the College Professional Development workshops since my retirement.
I am still vitally interested in advancements in the field of on-line education and With the introduction of the I-Pad and Kindle expect to see considerable advancements in the distribution of learning packages via the web in the next few years.
