Born in Santa Barbara. Interested in oceans, island biogeography, marine ecosystem. Parents are immigrants from Taiwan. Father runs wastewater management company, so raised with awareness of and respect to environment. Spent summers in Taipei with grandparents. Currently learning how to write, read, and speak Chinese fluently. Majoring in chemical biology. Considering medical school.
Taught English in Hualien, Taiwan to aboriginal children. Interested in indigenous peoples rights and the political situation in Taiwan and China. Also interested in global affairs, such as world health, child and youth rights, gender equality, sustainable development, and literacy.
