About Me

Hi my name is Tasha. I did my degree in sociology at york uni and now i'm doing my diploma at in assaulted women and children counselling and advocacy at George Brown. My placement is currently at the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (and yes it is as rough as the name of the organization but i love it). Doing my placement there, it has taught be so much about the human spirit will to survive despite the odds, and all though it can be emotionally draining, it is also very inspiring to interact with people who have undergone so much personal trauma and loss and yet still work hard to survive despite the odds. These people are an inspiration to me. I always wanted to do international work, especially dealing with gender issues, and my work at CCVT has made me more determined to work in countries torn by poverty and war. I'm really looking forward to my trip to Tanzania and all that I can experience and learn and best yet the people I will meet!
