About Me

I am working on research with TIG. Specially, on measuring the impact of the work TIG does. I am looking forward to connecting with global members about global citizenship and the social value of community engagement.

I recently graduated from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education/ University of Toronto with an M.A. in Adult Education and Community Development. In a nutshell, my thesis research involved developing and evaluating a social accounting tool for social purpose enterprises, alternative businesses that employ people who are socially marginalized. My primary areas of focus were/are community-based participatory research, social entrepreneurship, measuring social impact/value, and community economic development and empowerment through the creation of employment opportunities. During my graduate studies, I did some consulting work to assist social entrepreneurs in putting together their business plans and with social enterprise startup. I am also passionate about arts-based research and using art to give voice to marginalized populations.

I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I really enjoy cycling in and around the city. I also love team sports, especially basketball, which I have played for about 15 years. I grew up playing the piano so music is a very important part of my life.
