About me
Tammy Wang currently works for Lincoln Financial Group as a Strategic Consultant. She graduated from Columbia University in New York City in 2003, with a degree in Political Science and a focus on International Relations.
Tammy has always had a desire to help people and this world, but her true passion began when she took an internship in her first year of college with The Smile Train, an organization that helps children with facial deformities. Tammy helped design and launch, and coordinate an international project teaching students tolerance and acceptance for others. Through this project, Tammy became involved with the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN). Her project was commended by the Cable and Wireless Childnet International Awards in 2001, and was invited to participate in the Stockholm Challenge Awards in 2001.
Tammy attended and spoke at the 7th Annual International Education and Resource Network Conference in Beijing, China (7/2001), and the 3rd World Summit on Media for Children in Greece (4/2001). It was at those conferences that she connected with Nation1, a network of young people located around the world who want to make a positive difference in this world. Tammy was also a YoungPRESS youth journalist for the U.N. Special Session on Children, which was postponed due to the terrorist events of September 11, 2001.
More recently, Tammy attended as a delegate to the United Nations Youth Assembly in New York City and the Global Microcredit Summit in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is involved with several community and non-profit organizations in the Philadelphia area acting as a volunteer and on advisory councils. Working in business the past few years has allowed her to see the power business and corporations can have on impacting social change. She continues to seek global opportunities to leverage her business experiences and skills to help impact social issues and drive change.
